About me

My name is Loutfi AJAOUN, personal trainer and competitor.

I began my journey in bodybuilding in August 1996 as a skinny 140 lbs young man.
Since then I've never stop training, working hard and learning.
I've learned everything by myself : reading a lot of books and magazines.
I've been inspired by professional bodybuilder's lifestyle and training.

Early I began to put a lot of size on my frame and started to be noticed in my neighborhood. Everybody who I met, a few months ago, could barely recognize me, the transformation was so dramatic.

I've gained 33 lbs in only 1 year of training ! I was the champion of my neighborhood. I was the guy who succeeded where nobody else couldn't do it. So I was recognized as a hard worker, persistent, who never give up and always improves. That was a good feeling back then. :-)

Year after year I've put more weight and size and I've finally realized if I want to be the best in my sport, I must compete on stage.
My contest debut was not a walk in the park. To be ready for a contest in bodybuilding was not easy at all. I've lost a lot of size by doing lot of cardios and by eating 0 carbs. I've been tired physically and mentally. I've also had digestive problems, sleeping trouble and so on...

Since then I understood that the nutrition was the key for success. So I began to note everything that I was eating : portions, kind of food, supplements. I was already writing all about my training sessions but never about nutrition. After writing down all my nutrition and training plans, I've came to realize my mistakes and I've gained experience which permitted me to get better with each contest prep.

From when I was skinny till today I've competed in many countries : France, Morroco, I've even won an event at Venice Beach in Los Angeles. But my greatest accomplishment as a competitor is my victory in superheavy category at Canadian Bodybuilding Nationals 2010.

As an active athlete in the world of bodybuilding, I participated in lot of sport events, expos and seminars. I was also invited on the advertising boot of Muscle Insider and I've made photo sessions with MuscleMag. When I was still in France I participated in a TV show covering my progress in bodybuiding based on nutrition. In France, I also worked as a model for a sport store for many years.

When I began the sport of bodybuilding, there was nobody to teach me and to show me the right way to do it. I've found all the energy in myself and decided to believe in me. I've learned how to be strong, and how to build the perfect body that I want to have.

Today I have the chance to share my passion and my experience with my clients so they can reach their ideal physic. I will be glad to help you !

Loutfi.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What do you like the most about your job ?

It brings me joy and happiness to see my clients’ satisfaction with their results. When they tell me their old clothes are too big, or they can finally have a good sleep, good mood, energy. They quit smoking or don't want to eat unhealthy food anymore. I like to push them where they think they can't. Once they did they realize they are better/stronger than what they thought.

Describe three recent performances that you carried out

- In only 8 months I helped a 49 year old female lose 75.4 lbs making her go from overweight to an athlete in great shape.
- In only 2 months I was able to bring an athlete to the best shape of his life for the MuscleMania competition (it usually takes at least 3-6 months).
- In only 3 months I helped a 53 years old male to be in the best shape of his life.

Describe the work you do most often for your customers.

Train my clients in my gym, working on their program and doing the updates (paper work). Skype consulting with my clients outside of Ottawa and answering client emails.

What is your typical process when working with a new client?

The client contacts me (Facebook, email, via website). After the payment of 60$ for the consultation is received, the client comes to my office (or Skype if they are far). Then, we do the consultation. The client explains to me their problems, their goals, if any injuries, history and so on. I ask them questions and take notes. Once I clearly understand the whole situation, I build a strategy and explain how we'll get to that goal and how many training sessions it will take us. From there we START.

What educational background and/or professional qualifications do you have in your field of practice?

I'm COACH EXPORT certified trainer. Most importantly I have more than 20 years of experience in the industry. I have competed all over the world and won the highest title in Canada: Mr. Canada Bodybuilding Super Heavy Weight. I learned everything BY MYSELF, I never had a coach. I went from 140lbs to 276lbs of muscle (see pics). I was featured in different magazines (Muscle Mag, Muscle Insider), different websites for videos and interviews, worked at fitness expos, and was featured on TV (see my Youtube channel).

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Before touching any weights, I started reading books and studying nutrition, training, human body (biomechanics, anatomy). Early on I had tremendous progress. Just in the 1st year of training I gained 33lbs. People were SHOCKED and naturally came to me in the gym, asking me questions about training, nutrition and supplementation. People starting asking me if I could build them a program. From then on, I was hooked and BOOKED !

What types of clients have you worked with?

I've worked with all types of clients. Young kids/old, male/female. People who want to gain size and strength. Guys/girls that want to look good on the beach. Woman want to look attractive, lose weight or be ready for their wedding. Some REALLY OVERweight and some really UNDERweight! Some wanting to get ready for their bodybuilding/fitness competition. Keep coming because I LOVE all the challenges.

Describe a recent project you enjoyed. How long did it take?

I had a guy who contacted me when I was on VACATION! You know when you want to relax with the family ... I was in France. He was referred by one of my clients and he REALLY needed my help. So it was out of the question that I let him down. He had a bodybuilding competition in only 2 months’ time and he was in a bad shape (very late on schedule). So I said OK I’ll take you ... BUT! It will be HARD and there is no guarantee we succeed (preparing for a show takes AT LEAST 3-6 months). That was mission impossible even before we started. But guess what? We did it (see pics).

What advice would you give a client looking to hire a Pro in your domain?

Listen to 100% of what I will tell you. Don't listen to other people, ONLY the coach. You're in good hands, I care about success and health for my clients. That’s why it is important to follow the nutrition plan and my guidance and not make the changes on your own, if you are not sure don’t be afraid to ask questions. There is no stupid questions. By asking questions this will help avoid any bad decision the client may take. Be patient, learn, work hard and enjoy the journey.

What questions should clients think through before talking to Pros about their project?

You should ask yourself: Do I REALLY want it? Am I ready to give my 100%? Am I able to dedicate myself for the next several months to this goal? Am I ready to listen to someone and change my habits? If you're flexible and you can give me your confidence, you're ready.
